Animal Wisdom Series: Hornet

Oh, hornet! How I would have never known how powerful you could be, beyond your sting.

You teach me about transformation, community building and allowing my anger to move like wings.

No longer am I interested in blocking out that sensation,

rather I know it’s wiser to allow it to rise, be witnessed and released- that’s my recent revelation.

May you flutter and fly, showing me the way,

you remind me that I am resilient, protected and my demons can be invited to play.

No longer hiding parts of myself, my sorrows, my joy.

There is room for even disappointment to be expressed to my loved ones, oh, boy!

Thank you for surrendering your body, to be found on my shoe today.

Although I first thought you were a bee, your presence makes more sense I will have to say.

As it is only recently that I have allowed the energy of even sacred rage to stay,

no longer pushing it down, sugar coating or pretending its never a part of my day.

Thank you for blessing my field and my space,

I know you have so much to teach me about honoring my whole experience with grace.
