Plant Wisdom Series: Repotting
Repotting
Keywords: Shock of the New, Transitions
I find myself crowded in familiar spaces, roots pressing against borders & barriers. My current container has become increasingly less comfortable and I sense a tension between my desire to stay the same with the reality that I am outgrowing my current space. In loving touch, the caretaker soon pokes, traces and lifts at my soil. I am being called into transition by the forces outside of myself and I am being pulled away from familiarity. Soon, naked in the pure air, I dangle my ends grasping for grounding. I am danced, spun and potted in a new place. Feeling barren in this newness, I seek the edges of my new frontier. A douse of earth brings an inhale, followed by the exhale of hands patting me down into a new security. I am able to expand, breathe, experience in a new way here. The spaciousness once fearful has shifted to soft footing to navigate from. From tension, to panic, to trust and surrender, I now find myself in a new home, even better suited for me than I could imagine. As scary as the transition was, I am in a new space, for more expansion, depth and connection.
